CSI Workshops offer the only Crime Scene Investigation Camp in the UK for school children and adults. A NEW, challenging and innovative way of engaging with science and enterprise.

A warm welcome awaits you in a superb location on the North Yorkshire coast with comfortable well equipped accommodation with quality food offered to all.

CSI Workshops camp is situated in Whitby, North Yorkshire at a well known residential activity centre. We cater for up to 50 students. Travel can also be arranged. We will be pleased to answer your enquiries and chat about your requirements.

Outreach Proposals for the National Academy for Gifted and Talented Youth

Students will see how science is utilised in a practical everyday application. The programmes are fun, but fast paced so that they hold the students interest and challenge them with critical thinking and problem solving skills.

• CSI Workshops are proposing three activities for the National Academy for Gifted and Talented Youth.
  • A 1 Day Forensic Crime Scene Investigation Event to be held at the Academy's chosen location
  • A Residential Forensic Crime Scene Activity Weekend
  • A Residential Forensic Crime Scene 4 Day Midweek Event

All the above programmes are innovative, challenging and exciting. We aim to enthuse and motivate students, with the captivating engagement of forensic science. Students will see how science is utilised in a practical everyday application. The programmes are fun, but fast paced so that they hold the students interest and challenge them with critical thinking and problem solving skills.

They work alone as well as work in a team and build up investigation strategies for the scenarios given. the students will learn basic crime scene investigation techniques using researched authentic equipment (Health and Safety Approved). The students will also learn how to identify and retrieve evidence in a systematic approach. The students will then see how the Police and The Crown Prosecution Service work in partnership with the Forensic Science Service by means of Forensic Analysis of the evidence they have retrieved. The students will learn how to Analyse Forensic Evidence, Physical and Chemical and then how this is utilised in the UK courts.

These CSI Workshop activities are an innovative way of promoting Science and Higher Education to students in a fun enriching educational way, additionally, CSI Workshops support the National Curriculum and in particular, Science, Maths, English, Media Studies, PHSE and Citizenship subjects . CSI Workshops are the first to offer the pure Forensic Residential Weekends and Weeks in the UK.
